My images are deeply rooted in emotional experiences – where pathos and comedy are sometimes close neighbours.
Drawing is the discipline that underpins them. I have a special love of charcoal and its hugely expressive qualities, and I revel in the physicality of drawing at large scale.
Recent works have included musings on identity, resilience, innocence and experience. My practice is sustained by close observation, eavesdropping, and playing with serious intent.
